Smart City: Deputy commissioner D S Ramesh appeals for support
Deputy commissioner D S Ramesh has called upon the public to extend their full support and cooperation in making Davanagere keep up with the Smart City tag by keeping their surroundings clean and green. He was addressing the gathering at Bapuji MBA college a uditorium here on Thursday after inaugurating the two-day workshop on the Smart City concept, organized by the city municipal corporation. He stressed the need of discipline and awareness among public in developing Davanagere into a Smart City.
Fou nder of ISD organisation Sri Hari in his keynote address said that the Smart City concept is parallel and complementa ry to nature’s principles and it should be developed as per the BIS standards. Referring to the Amaravthi as a successful Smart City in Telangana state, Sri Hari said that people of that region have donated over 50,000 acres of land to the government along with their fullest cooperation in developing it, he said. Mayor Ashwini Prashanth, deputy mayor Gowdru Rajashekhar, several corporators and engineers along with principals of the local engineering colleges were present on the occasion.
